About EUPHOLOGY

Stuart Blake has been a keen musician and music teacher for several years and has long aspired to creating a euphonium quartet. Early in 2007 this ambition was realised when he pursuaded three of his students to join him in creating "EUPHOLOGY". They busily built up a repertoire and rehearsed regularly prior to their inaugural concert given on 21st July 2007.
The current Euphologists are:
Martin Warner
Martin Warner is Principal Euphonium with Tewkesbury Town Band. Having started to play the cornet around 29 years ago with the Chase High School Brass Band, he realised some years ago that the euphonium was a far superior instrument!

Tim Kemp
Tim Kemp started playing euphonium at school in Norfolk when he was 13 but stopped after four years. He rediscovered it again about 17 years ago and now plays Principal Euphonium for Worcester Concert Brass. He has two children, one of whom is learning to play the cornet and drums and the other of whom has yet to see the light in respect of brass and currently prefers to concentrate her efforts on learning the violin.

Edward Holmes
Ed Holmes Ed has been playing euphonium since the age of 10, with the occasional flirtation with the trombone. He has served as principal euphonium with Worcester Concert Brass and currently plays with Tenbury Town Band, of which he is also Assistant Conductor.

His day job involves arguing with people over money, which makes him well-prepared for life as an amateur musician!

Stuart Blake
Stuart Blake is enjoying having retired from teaching music after twenty five years. Sadly he still has to work at his day job to pay the mortgage though! He started playing euphonium with the Chase High School Brass Band in 1974 and has been playing ever since. Also a member of the Worcester Gilbert and Sullivan Society. Stuart is also an accomplished conductor and arranger having arranged much of the music that Euphology plays.
